The hunter will hunt a variety of terrain with elevation ranging from 6000-10,000 feet depending on the movement of the elk herd and season hunting. This is a trophy unit that will take 22- 26 points to draw as a Non-Resident hunter, and 09-17 points as a Resident hunter depending on the desired season and method of take. Max of six per camp, but usually 4-5 guys will be in camp at once. This area has a lot of roads and so it is not a very physically demanding hunt. Hunters will start high on the plateaus and glass the canyons for big bulls. Hunter should be comfortable with 300-600 yard shots. Bigger bulls may require longer shots. Experienced guides will help with shot set up and provide shooting tripods. This is the perfect place in Colorado to cash in those elk points! Option to add additional hunting days or a mule deer if drawn.

Description
Depending on the season booked will determine what is the best gear to book. After booking, the outfitter will check both the 10 day and 5 day forecast before hunter arrives and report what weather pattern looks like. Hunting at higher elevations can cause extreme weather changes in very short periods of time. Unit 61 sits in southern Colorado so hunter can expect to be in warmer weather during the archery and early rifle seasons.
