Description

Black Bear hunts are perfect for those who like a bit of action at the beginning or end of the main hunting season. These bear hunts are in mountain zones, where baiting isn’t allowed (due to the local Grizzly population). This outfitter uses the spot and stalk method instead. Expect long hikes, sore muscles, and ridiculous satisfaction. Our section of the Rockies produces some trophy-size bruins, and can be an amazing location for a combined fishing trip (spring) or moose hunt (fall). Please note that each hunter is permitted a max of two bears per license.

It is also our policy, depending on the adventure you booked and at our discretion, that if you have to cancel and we are able to book a replacement for you at the regular price we will work with you to apply your deposits to another adventure. Please note that we cannot refund or roll state or government license fees, application fees, draw results, or tags.

    Description

Your adventure starts by flying or driving into Grande Prairie, Alberta — one of the great pioneer cities of Northern Canada. Outfitter will be at the airport to greet you and drive you out to our nearby country home and staging centre. Once you’re geared up, you will drive the two hours to the base camp in the Rocky Mountain foothills. It’s a huge, majestic area, surrounded by provincial parks and hundreds of miles of untouched wilderness. The limited access to the area allows this area to maintain a population of some of the largest moose, elk, mountain sheep, and black bears in Canada — as well as wolves, mule deer, mountain goats, and cougars. Our camps are very comfortable. To comply with local laws and regulations, the outfitter exclusively use “mobile camps” — basically cabins on wheels. They’re warm, comfortable bunkhouses, each equipped with private areas and a kitchen. (We’re big believers in excellent food.) Upon request, or in the course of chasing a great trophy, the outfitter may sometimes move to a spike camp — where they will set up large wall tents with heating. Options to make this a combo hunt if booked far enough in advance. Option to add mountain goat, moose, elk, and/or deer. Additional trophy fees for each animal. This can be a total customized hunt. For trophy moose, the outfitter often targets bulls in the 50-60 inch range (though we’ve found bigger). Hunters have a great chance at a Pope & Young or Boone & Crockett qualifying trophy. The elk here are large too — we harvest plenty over 300, to as high as 365. These hunts are going to challenge you. The best areas are remote and difficult to access. But the pains are worth it — steep and rugged spots consistently produces monster trophies. Adventures are made to be savored. This outfitter has excellent camera equipment, and extensive experience with professional hunting videography. They will work with your preferences to ensure you can re-live the highlights with your friends and family for years to come
